As a Collections Supervisor for one of the nation’s largest accounting firms, this professional is responsible for overseeing all bill payments in collections—no small feat. While working in collections isn’t necessarily a role she dreamed about, as a people person, it’s one she finds fantastic and rewarding. Here she shares how working with BillGO helps make her job easier.

How does your role impact your company?
We have an enormous amount of clientele, and I'm responsible for overseeing all bill payments in collections. Which means there is a lot of pursuing people.
Collections is an animal. The “how” of what I do is relationship-building. I love being on the phone with people. I don’t think anyone grows up saying they want to do this. But the opportunity presented itself and, you know, I thought I’d try this out.
We have a ton of partners who have had clients for 25 years, so there is lot of meaning attached to who we're dealing with. It’s critical to strike the right balance between being professional and firm – and kind. All of these traits come into play. Sometimes collections is the “front office” of the firm. We have people across the organization calling us, sometimes needing us to take clients off of credit hold. We have to have our clients locked down.
What are some of the biggest challenges you face when trying to do your job successfully?
Time. We spend the whole day collecting payments. Literally.
Of course, the day is interrupted by the nuances of other staff. My team doesn’t create billing. We collect on it.

What do you like best about working with BillGO?
The BillGO portal is easy to use and intuitive. It really streamlines things. For instance, when you have different browsers open, like I always do to reconcile with our bank, and I have the credit card number, we can simply use the copy and paste function from BillGO for the card – it’s a gamechanger! So smooth and easy! I don’t know any other company that does this, this is exclusive to BillGO. It’s so fabulous, just a little box under the actual credit card number that just captures the number and pastes it to where it’s going next. Such a time saver! It sounds so petty. But anybody would love something like this.
Another fantastic thing about the portal is that it can pull all payment history into an Excel document, if need be, to show the CEO for financial reporting.
And, honestly, the customer support has been great. First of all, they have staff behaving consistently across BillGO. Everybody is so eager to help. There’s no dropping the ball. It’s not like we get in touch with BillGO and never hear back. Turnaround time is fantastic! It says a lot about the expectations of BillGO.
